Puglia is one of the most searched regions on Google by tourists from all over the world.

The trend was confirmed by some surveys carried out by Google agencies, which investigated the online reputation of the word ‘Puglia’ in 2019 and noticed an important positive trend towards the region.

There are many searches with the words ‘Puglia’, ‘Travel Puglia’, ‘Holiday Puglia’ and so on. Those who have done more researches are the inhabitants of the United Kingdom, followed by the Germans and the French, and the trend is increasing: apparently, in just one year, there has been an increase of about 20% in searches by European citizens.
According to the survey, the favorite summer destination of foreign tourists in Puglia is Salento, in fact, there are many searches for this area. However, actually the searches for Salento, as well as for the whole region, are not concentrated only during the summer period but during all seasons.

Besides the wonderful beaches of Puglia, in colder months, tourists did searches about culture in Puglia: one of the most typed keywords on Google is ‘art in Puglia’. This data indicates a good increase in tourism towards towns and villages, among which are mainly Monopoli, Alberobello, Lecce and Polignano a Mare.

Puglia is also highly sought after among Italians, as it ranks fifth among the most sought after destinations on Google.it
